Atmel ARM processor with internal oscillator and optional external oscillator (pads provided but not populated).

Key features include: • USB OTG (implemented on processor board) • USARTS – Four channels for implementation of SCI, SPI, and other popular communications protocols (TTL level signals, associated peripheral cards required for implementation on some protocols) • I2C / TWI – Two channels • Timer / Counters – Nine channel / 32 bit timer • PWM – Eight channel; 16 bit PWMs, including complementary pairs (PWMH / PWML) – also includes motion fault outputs • RTC – Real time clock with time / date capabilities • ATD – Sixteen channel, 12-bit ATD with on-board or external ATD reference • DAC – One 2-channel digital to analog converter • CAN – Two CAN channels • Ethernet – One Ethernet channel • SD Card and NAND Flash interface (via DPIP headers) • General Purpose I/O – 103 total I/O lines; can be configured for edge or level interrupt • Vsupply (processor and peripherals) – 3.3Volts only (as implemented on E3 Embedded PIEP)
